Some areas of Indonesia's popular resort destination Bali have been hit by floods, forcing hundreds of people to evacuate, including dozens of tourists.

According to an AFP report, a senior official from the local disaster management agency said on the 24th that since the evening of the 23rd, heavy rainfall has caused floods in several parts of Bali and the provincial capital Denpasar. No casualties have been reported so far.

During the flood surge on Tuesday, about 350 people temporarily took shelter. As the water receded, most have now returned home.

Among them, the flood inundated facilities such as cafes and gas stations in the Padang area, forcing some tourists to evacuate by inflatable boats.

An airport spokesperson said in a statement that earlier on Tuesday, heavy rain forced two international flights bound for Bali airport to be diverted, and three other flights were delayed.

In September last year, some areas of Bali were hit by sudden floods, causing at least 18 deaths and 4 people missing. It was the island’s most severe flooding in a decade.
