In February 2030, the Federal Territory Day public holiday, Chinese Lunar New Year, and Hari Raya Aidilfitri will all happen consecutively, and it is expected that highways will face massive traffic jams at that time.

On social media Threads, a user named @anakjalanan1992 shared the 2030 calendar. According to the post, in February 2030, the Federal Territory Day public holiday falls on February 1st (Friday), Chinese Lunar New Year on February 3rd (Sunday) and 4th (Monday), and Hari Raya Aidilfitri on February 5th (Tuesday) and 6th (Wednesday). Therefore, February 7th (Thursday) could possibly be listed as a replacement holiday for Lunar New Year.

This netizen also wrote in the post: “There are four years left until we face the most severe traffic jams in Malaysia’s history.”

The relevant post sparked heated discussions among netizens, with most feeling excited, but also imagining there will be unusually severe traffic congestion at that time.

Netizen Adila commented, “Wow, that holiday is extremely long. I can’t even imagine how bad the jam will be.”

Elden said, “Honestly, for me, it’s better to travel overseas during that period. I can start booking tickets now.”

Nazrif jokingly said, “If you want to return to your hometown, you might need to set off a month in advance.”
