Gunshots were heard near the presidential palace in Caracas, the capital of Venezuela, on the 5th.
Eyewitnesses said that around 8 p.m., a group of drones flew over Miraflores Palace in downtown Caracas, triggering the activation of air defense systems. After a few minutes, the systems stopped, and police patrols were seen on the streets.
It is understood that the military conducted anti-aircraft fire. Tanks were also deployed by the armed forces in response, and the situation is now under control.
The incident occurred just a few hours after Vice President Rodríguez was sworn in as acting president.
