(Miri, 5th) — A driver, suspected of dozing off while driving, crashed his Proton Persona sedan into four vehicles parked by the roadside on the Rantau–Kuala Baram Road this afternoon, resulting in an injury to his left leg.
The Lopeng branch of the Fire and Rescue Department received an emergency call at 4:54 p.m. and immediately dispatched firefighters to the scene.
Upon arrival, firefighters found that the Proton Persona had collided with four parked vehicles.
It is believed that the accident was caused by the driver losing control of the vehicle due to drowsiness.
An operations team led by PBK I Amindra Lapiaman rescued the injured driver from the car, stabilized and administered initial treatment, and subsequently handed the victim over to the police and Ministry of Health Malaysia personnel for further treatment.
The situation was brought under control at 4:59 p.m., and after ensuring the accident site was safe, the firefighting operation ended at 6:09 p.m.
