(Miri, 28th) Principal Sim Siew Fong, President of the Miri Early Childhood Education Association, stated that although early childhood education work is ordinary, it shoulders the important mission of shaping the future. Education is not only the transmission of knowledge but also the continuation and integration of culture.

She pointed out that early childhood educators may not have a dazzling aura, but they accompany children's growth with love and patience, and they enable children from different backgrounds to shine equally at the starting line with wisdom and perseverance, lighting up their future.

She made these remarks during her speech at the 2026 Teacher’s Day Celebration ‘Shining Night — The Starlight That Lights Up the Future’, the 2025 Teacher Long-term Service Award Presentation and the 12th Council Inauguration Ceremony held last night.

She said that childhood education not only imparts knowledge but also shapes the character and dreams of a child for life. The efforts of early educators may go unnoticed, but their significance is far-reaching.

She thanked all teachers for their perseverance and dedication, allowing education to take root and grow on this land, and paid high tribute to the recipients of the Long-term Service Awards, praising them for guarding the growth of children for decades and devoting their youth and love to the cause of education.
