Hollywood actor “Little Spider-Man” Tom Holland and his wife Zendaya just finished promoting “Odyssey,” a film starring both of them, and the two recently came to Shanghai to promote the upcoming “Spider-Man: Rebirth.” During their break, they went shopping and were spotted at the “Semir” store, a Chinese affordable brand located on Huaihai Road. Holland picked out a pair of shorts priced at 159 RMB (about 96 MYR) and immediately put them on. When Chinese netizens saw him walking down the street carrying a Semir shopping bag, his purchase of affordable Chinese pants sparked a buzz—many joked that Semir had practically been “blessed by a windfall,” enjoying free publicity and exposure.
According to descriptions from Weibo users, Holland and his wife Zendaya went shopping during their promotional break in Shanghai, which was experiencing scorching temperatures of 40 degrees Celsius. Holland, apparently unable to bear the heat, decided to buy shorts and change into them. He was wearing a Ralph Lauren shirt on top and Prada casual shoes on his feet, paired with affordable Semir shorts—yet the combination looked completely harmonious. The couple also visited Yu Garden, tried on qipao, ate sesame paste noodles, and sampled popular drinks—enjoying the full tourist experience.
After photos of Tom Holland carrying a Semir bag and wearing the brand’s shorts circulated on Weibo, Semir's official team responded swiftly, calling out on social media in hopes of getting in touch to promote the same style. Netizens reported that in less than a day, the shorts Holland wore were already sold out on the official website.
