According to comprehensive reports from Taiwan’s China Times and CTS News, the local market heard on Tuesday morning that the tariff rate for Taiwan would be set at 22%, and that Taiwan would be required to provide an investment amount of USD 500 billion (2.11 trillion ringgit). Bloomberg cited sources as saying that the Trump team so far has only offered Taiwan the best available tariff rate, but has not mentioned a specific figure.

Sources indicate that Taiwanese officials believe the rate should be about 15%, similar to what Japan has obtained.
