(Seria, 5th) The 2025 Pi Xian Lin Defu Memorial Cup Open Chess Tournament has successfully concluded, with Lin Ting'an once again retaining the championship.
Lin Ting'an was very happy to receive the award again and said in an interview that he would continue to work hard.
Lin Ting'an will also represent the association to participate in the World Chinese Chess Championship to be held in Shanghai, China, in September.
Lin Ting'an began learning chess at age 13 and once represented the Limbang youth team in chess competitions.
In 1998, he also participated in the university student chess union competition and won the team championship.
The award ceremony was held at the private residence of Brunei Chess Association Chairman Chen Xianfu.
Guests in attendance included Legal Advisor Yu Qingzai (Lawyer), the association's honorary advisors Bao Pingsheng, Zeng Ruiji, and Wei Bofu, and Lin Dementai and his spouse.
In this tournament, Zhou Rong'an won the runner-up, Du Shupeng won third place, and the 4th to 11th places went to Du Yaxing, Xu Xianming, Liu Guihua, Ye Ruiguo, Luo Xiaoliang, Liang Yahai, Liu Jiajie, and Huang Lingxiang, respectively.
At the event, Brunei Chess Association Chairman Chen Xianfu presented chess sets and chessboards to the three honorary advisors: Bao Pingsheng, Zeng Ruiji, and Wei Bofu.
