(Miri, 9th) – Datuk Hii Teck Onn, Honorary Life Advisor of Xiuying Performing Arts Troupe, pointed out that music knows no age; as long as there is passion in your heart, singing can transcend the years, touching yourself as well as others.

In his speech, Hii Teck Onn stated that this singing contest is specially open to male and female singers above the age of forty. It is more than a competition—it's a precious platform for singing enthusiasts at different stages of life to return to the stage, continue their love for music, and showcase a mature yet equally moving voice.
He pointed out that singing is not only an artistic expression, but also helps to relieve stress, relax the mind, and promote physical and mental health. Expressing emotions through song can also boost confidence and maintain a positive attitude towards life. Especially during the Chinese New Year, using song to convey joy and blessings can bring people closer together and inject positive energy into society.
He also praised Xiuying Performing Arts Troupe for consistently promoting local performing arts development over the years and for creating platforms for singing enthusiasts to communicate and perform, enriching community culture and enabling more people to find happiness and confidence through singing. He wished all participants a relaxed mindset, excellent performances, and for the event to be completed successfully in a harmonious and joyful atmosphere.

Earlier, Lai Xiuying, head of Xiuying Performing Arts Troupe, stated in her welcoming speech that she was grateful for the support of all guests, judges, contestants, and media friends.
She said that the singing competition has been held for consecutive years, and its smooth and successful continuation is thanks to the generous support of sponsors, enthusiastic participation of singers, the professional evaluations of judges, and the warm attendance of the audience. She hopes the event will become more exciting year after year.
She also introduced the attending guests, including Datuk Nguong Hing Teck and his wife, singing competition advisor and president of Miri Star of Tomorrow Performing Arts Society Fong How Seng, Luo Xinhua, Cheng Youfu and his wife, Qian Lifu, Chen Lu, and three judges: Teacher Zeng Meiying, Guan Meimei, etc., and welcomed everyone to participate enthusiastically and to greet the New Year together through song.
