Violation of Urban and Rural Planning Act: A Workshop Ordered to Cease Operations

(Brunei City, 10th) A workshop in Lambak Village operating without authorization has been ordered to cease operations for violating Article 23(2) of the Urban and Rural Planning Act by operating without planning permission.
These illegal industrial activities were conducted on residential land that is unsuitable for such purposes, posing a threat to the safety and well-being of the surrounding community.

The planning department has not received any application for such activities to be conducted at the said premises.

The landowner has complied with the planning department's order to stop all activities and relocate the operations to a nearby industrial area.
Any development and change of use without planning permission can cause damage and affect public safety.

Meanwhile, the public is reminded to comply with the planning law, especially Article 23 of the Urban and Rural Planning Act, which stipulates that no one shall develop, subdivide, or merge any land, or conduct any works in a protected area without the permission of the planning department.

The offense is punishable by a maximum fine of 200,000 yuan.
