Russian Passenger Plane with 49 On Board Crashes in Far East; Wreckage Found

Rescue personnel have discovered the wreckage of the missing passenger plane in Russia's Far Eastern Amur region.

An Antonov An-24 passenger plane with 49 people on board went missing in Russia's Far East on the 24th. The plane was carrying 43 passengers and 6 crew members, including 5 children among the passengers.

According to the Russian Ministry of Emergency Situations, the plane took off from the Far Eastern city of Khabarovsk, stopped over in Blagoveshchensk, and was en route to Tynda. The aircraft disappeared from radar a few kilometers from Tynda airport in Amur region, without sending any signals before it went missing.

The plane was operated by Angara Airlines.
