The earthquake that struck northern Afghanistan in the early hours of the 3rd has resulted in 24 deaths and more than 630 injuries.
Rescue workers have arrived in the disaster area, clearing roads and assisting affected residents.
An official in Badakhshan Province, northeastern Afghanistan, said the earthquake has damaged about 800 houses in the area.
The 6.3-magnitude earthquake struck northern Afghanistan at 0:58 a.m. local time on the 3rd.
According to the Afghan disaster management department, the epicenter was located in the Khulum area at the border of Balkh and Samangan provinces, at a depth of 28 kilometers.
