(Bandar Seri Begawan, 18th) Officers from the Royal Brunei Police Force's Tutong District Police, upon spotting a suspicious vehicle in the Kampong Nigalong area of Tutong, immediately took action.
At around 7:30 PM that evening, while conducting patrols and surveillance in the area, police noticed a suspicious vehicle heading toward the vicinity of the Sultan Omar Ali Saifuddien Bridge.
The police intercepted the vehicle, but it refused to stop. Eventually, the vehicle was successfully intercepted at the parking lot of Kampong Sungai Bangar, Bandar Seri Begawan.
The driver, a 39-year-old local man, tried once more to escape into the nearby forest but was apprehended by the police. Inside the suspect's vehicle, police found several large boxes containing contraband.
Further investigation confirmed that police had confiscated 24 bottles and 24 cans of alcoholic beverages, as well as 355 cartons and one packet of cigarettes. All contraband and the suspect have been handed over to the Royal Customs and Excise Department for further processing and investigation.
