(Indonesia, 18th) — A small aircraft belonging to Indonesia Air Transport Company lost contact while flying over Maros Regency, South Sulawesi Province. There were eight passengers and three crew members on board.
According to local media reports cited by Xinhua News Agency, the ATR-400 aircraft went missing on Saturday (January 17). It departed from Yogyakarta in central Java and its destination was Makassar.
Andi Sultan, Head of Operations at the Makassar branch of Indonesia’s National Search and Rescue Agency, told local media that the agency received the missing aircraft report at 13:17 local time (13:17 Malaysian time). Currently, three teams with dozens of rescue personnel have been dispatched to the search area.
