Li Shengjie Debuts Full Version of 'Infatuation Absolute' at Genting, Moves Fans to Tears

Taiwan’s “Prince of Love Songs” Lee Shengjie took to the stage at Genting's Arena of Stars on Saturday night, officially kicking off two consecutive shows of his 'Infatuation Absolute Tour – Genting Stop.' In the first show, he performed a string of classic love songs, accompanying fans down memory lane. He also delivered, for the first time in Malaysia, a full version of his signature hit ‘Infatuation Absolute,’ sending the entire audience into a frenzy as fans exclaimed, 'Finally, we get to hear it!'
Lee Shengjie shot to fame in the Mandarin music scene with ‘Infatuation Absolute’ and once declared that after performing it for the 9,999th time, he would no longer sing the song in its entirety. As such, in recent years during shows in Malaysia, he would only sing it a cappella. After giving his 10,000th performance of the song during a concert in Wuhan last year, Malaysian fans at the Genting concert were equally lucky to witness his new rendition of the full song.

When the familiar melody started, Lee Shengjie was filled with emotion: 'This is my 10,005th time singing ‘Infatuation Absolute’ in full, and also the first time performing the full version at Genting!' The audience responded with thunderous applause, fans singing along in unison for a moving scene.

When he continued with hits like ‘Recently’, ‘She Loves You So Much’, ‘Draw Near’, and ‘Letting Go’, the entire hall transformed into a giant karaoke. Fans joined in and sang with great enthusiasm. Especially during ‘Passing By’, many in the audience could not hold back tears, prompting Lee to gently reassure them: 'Don't cry.' His tender words instantly broke through fans’ defenses.

In addition, as a tennis enthusiast, Lee Shengjie turned into a 'tennis prince' during his performance of ‘Right Now,’ personally swinging his racket to send signed tennis balls into the audience, instantly igniting the crowd. Watching fans scramble for a ball, he joked playfully: 'This is my first time playing tennis on stage. Everyone seems to love it—maybe I should do this at every show from now on!'
Lee Shengjie has performed in Malaysia nearly every year, with every concert packed to the rafters. On stage, he made a heartfelt wish, hoping to meet Malaysian fans either every six months or at least once a year in the future.
