(Saratok, 12th) The police are currently searching for a released inmate who went missing after violating the terms of the 'Prisoners Released on License' (PBSL) program.
Saratok District Police Chief, DSP Mathew Manggie, stated that the individual is 30-year-old Mohamad Hamizul Mohd Kiprawi, who was previously placed under supervision release by the Kuching Parole and Community Service Office.
It is reported that he disappeared from the designated residence at No. 3/451, Jalan Haji Puteh Ellias, Saratok.
“We received a police report that Hamizul, originally a released inmate from Sri Aman Central Prison, was required to reside at the specified location until July 15 according to the PBSL program regulations.
“He was arranged to stay at the aforementioned address but has been missing since June 8.
“Hamizul is now recognized as violating Section 43(1) of the Prisons Act 1995, which requires released inmates to remain at their designated residence and not leave without permission,” Mathew stated in the declaration.
He urged the public to report to Saratok Police Station head SM Nara Medan if they have any information on Hamizul's whereabouts, contact number: 019-8579113.
