(Bandar Seri Begawan, 3rd) The Brunei Fire and Rescue Department recently received an emergency report indicating a forest fire had broken out around the Berakas Forest Reserve Recreational Park.
Upon receiving the report, the department immediately dispatched 4 fire engines and a total of 32 firefighters from the Lambak Kanan, Limbah, Berakas Fire Stations, and the Women's Operational Unit to the scene to begin firefighting efforts.
This firefighting operation was led by Fire and Rescue Supervisor Ajalin, who is also the deputy commander of Group “C” of the operational division.
When the firefighters arrived at the scene, they found the fire sporadically distributed on the hillside. The firefighters promptly entered the forest area and used fire beaters and temporary water tanks to extinguish the fire.
According to the Fire and Rescue Department, the affected area today was about 7 hectares, located within government-owned land. During the entire firefighting operation, no injuries were reported and no other unpleasant incidents occurred.
The officers present included: Berakas Fire Station Chief Abdul Rahman, Lambak Kanan Fire Station Chief Faz, Women's Operational Unit Fire Station Chief Rositi, and Limbah Fire Station Chief Mohamed.
