China is currently experiencing a peak in outbound travel during the summer holidays, and recently there have been continuous complaints from passengers about inadequate airline services. On August 1st, a Lucky Air flight from Urumqi to Chengdu was delayed for 4 hours, and several netizens posted that staff at the scene provided stranded passengers with expired cup noodles.
According to HKON.cc, footage from the scene showed several passengers standing in front of the boarding gate, with one passenger holding a cup noodle with a production date of January 6, 2026 and a best before date of July 3rd, which was then returned to staff at the scene. In response, a Lucky Air staff member said that due to the flight delay, the airline promptly instructed ground services to provide food to passengers, but indeed some meals did not meet standards. Staff identified and immediately withdrew them, and no passengers consumed the products. The company subsequently conducted a service investigation and gave each passenger a compensation of 200 yuan.
Other netizens reported that in the early hours of August 2nd, after a Spring Airlines flight landed at Shanghai Pudong Airport from Harbin, all passengers boarded an airport shuttle bus to the terminal. The temperature soared inside the enclosed vehicle, making it extremely hot and stuffy. Passengers repeatedly requested the driver to turn on the air conditioning, but were refused. Passengers were trapped inside the bus for up to 40 minutes and had an argument with the driver after getting off.
Spring Airlines issued an apology announcement, stating that the shuttle bus in question experienced a sudden air conditioning failure, causing some passengers to endure stuffiness and discomfort while waiting to disembark. The airline expressed its sincere apologies for the incident.
