A woman in China recently visited Qianlingshan Scenic Area in Guizhou Province, bringing a banana to interact with wild monkeys. Unexpectedly, she was kicked and sent flying by a monkey, causing her to fall backward and fracture her leg.
According to Chinese media reports, on August 12, the female tourist visited Qianlingshan Scenic Area with a banana to feed the monkeys. When she made contact, she seemed to scare the monkey that was eating; the monkey immediately lunged at the tourist, spun in the air, landed a fierce kick, then jumped onto a tree.
The woman lost her balance due to the monkey’s kick, fell backward, and fractured her leg, possibly requiring at least a month of recovery.
In the video’s comment section, a netizen from Guizhou left a message: “You should just throw it in front of them, don’t get close. Even I don’t dare bring anything when I go.”
Qianlingshan Scenic Area has set up safety warnings, requiring visitors to keep a safety distance of two or three meters from the monkeys and prohibiting the feeding of food.
On the 14th, a reporter from Jimu News called Qianlingshan Park. Staff there said they only learned about the incident after watching the online video: “She didn’t register with us. We remind visitors not to actively feed or tease the wild macaques.”
