Beijing 93 Military Parade Attendance List Announced: Putin and Kim Jong Un to Appear at Tiananmen

China will hold a grand military parade on September 3rd. On the 28th, Chinese Assistant Foreign Minister Hong Lei stated that, at the invitation of Chinese President Xi Jinping, 26 foreign heads of state and political leaders will attend the commemoration of the 80th anniversary of the Chinese People's War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression and the World Anti-Fascist War Victory.

The list of invited dignitaries is as follows: Russian President Putin, General Secretary of the Workers' Party of Korea and Chairman of the State Affairs Commission Kim Jong Un, Cambodian King Norodom Sihamoni, Vietnamese President Luong Cuong, General Secretary of the Central Committee of the Lao People's Revolutionary Party and President Thongloun, Indonesian President Prabowo, Malaysian Prime Minister Anwar, Mongolian President Khurelsukh, Pakistani Prime Minister Shehbaz, Nepalese Prime Minister Oli, Maldivian President Muizzu, Kazakh President Tokayev, Uzbek President Mirziyoyev, Tajik President Rahmon, Kyrgyz President Japarov, Turkmen President Serdar Berdimuhamedow, Belarusian President Lukashenko, Azerbaijani President Aliyev, Armenian Prime Minister Pashinyan, Iranian President Pezeshkian, Republic of the Congo President Sassou, Zimbabwean President Mnangagwa, Serbian President Vučić, Slovakian Prime Minister Fico, First Secretary of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Cuba and President Díaz-Canel, Acting President of Myanmar Min Aung Hlaing.

In addition, at the invitation of the Chinese government, some presidents of parliament, deputy prime ministers, high-level representatives, heads of international organizations, and former dignitaries from various countries will also attend the commemorative events.

China has also extended special invitations to international friends or their relatives who contributed to the Chinese People's War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression. Representatives of 50 friends or their relatives from 14 countries—including Russia, the United States, the United Kingdom, France, Canada, and others—will attend as invited guests.

On the morning of the 28th at 10 a.m., the News Center for the 80th Anniversary of the Chinese People’s War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression and the World Anti-Fascist War Victory held the first press conference on the second floor of the Media Center’s press conference hall. Chinese Assistant Foreign Minister Hong Lei; Vice Minister of Culture and Tourism, Lu Yingchuan; Deputy Director of the Parade Leading Group Office and Major General, Deputy Director of the Joint Staff Department Operations Bureau of the Central Military Commission Wu Zeke; and Standing Committee Member of the Beijing Municipal Committee and Executive Vice Mayor Xia Linmao introduced the preparations for the 80th anniversary commemorative activities and answered questions from reporters.
