(Bandar Seri Begawan, 8th) The Department of Environment, Parks and Recreation (JASTRe) under the Ministry of Development simultaneously held National Recycling Day events across four districts.
Specific recycling locations included: JASTRe branch office in Brunei-Muara District, Anggerek Desa Mini-Festive Leisure Park, Kampung Parit Mini-Festive Leisure Park; JASTRe branch office in Tutong District; JASTRe branch office in Belait District; and the car park at Muhibbah Recreational Park, Bangar Town.
This event received the cooperation and support of local recycling companies Kawan Bumi Sendirian Berhad and Shaliz Waste Recycling Sendirian Berhad.
A total of 4,575.6 kg of waste paper, 460.9 kg of cardboard, 444.1 kg of plastic bottles, 331.3 liters of used cooking oil, 63 lithium batteries, 619 pieces of electronic waste, and 2,074 used items were successfully collected for recycling.
This initiative is one of the government's measures to raise public awareness and participation in recycling, as well as to promote nationwide recycling services.
