Brunei Urges Citizens to Register for Safety, Advises Postponing Travel Amidst Middle East Turmoil

(Bandar Seri Begawan, 5th) The Brunei Ministry of Foreign Affairs has issued a statement on its website indicating that, in light of the current turmoil in the Middle East, the Ministry is closely monitoring the local security situation through Brunei’s diplomatic missions in countries across the region, with a particular focus on safeguarding the welfare of Bruneian citizens currently in the area who have registered with the respective missions.

The statement notes that, in view of this, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs stresses that Bruneian citizens located in affected countries who have not yet registered with Brunei’s overseas diplomatic missions must do so using the electronic registration system available on the Ministry's website (https://www.mfa.gov.bn/pages/eRegister_desc.aspx).

In addition, the Ministry further advises Bruneian citizens to avoid traveling to the Middle East and to postpone related travel plans until the current situation stabilizes.
