The Malaysian Fire & Rescue Department expresses its highest respect and gratitude to 45 members from 13 volunteer fire brigades who selflessly crossed the border to Hat Yai, Thailand to carry out rescue efforts.

In a Facebook post on Thursday (27th), the Malaysian Fire & Rescue Department stated that this voluntary action demonstrated a spirit of cross-border cooperation, as volunteer fire brigades from Kedah, Penang, Perak, Selangor, and Johor joined forces to carry out rescue missions in the neighboring country.

“We are deeply grateful for the time, energy, and expertise they have contributed in assisting Malaysian citizens in distress.”

At the same time, the department also especially thanked the non-governmental organization UNITED SIKH Seri Muda for providing logistical support during the operation, including medical and food assistance.

Operation bases were established in Sadao and Hat Yai, with meticulous coordination in dispatching rescue boats, four-wheel drive vehicles, and logistics trucks, demonstrating the highest level of professionalism and ensuring the success of the rescue operations.

The spirit of dedication shown by the volunteer brigades symbolizes humanity, courage, and the community's preparedness in the face of disaster.

The Malaysian Fire & Rescue Department highly acknowledges this spirit of cooperation, considering all participating volunteer members as vital strategic partners in strengthening the country’s disaster response capabilities.
