Hong Kong drama goddess Ye Xuan won the International Chinese Miss pageant in 1999 and has starred in many classic costume dramas such as Reincarnation Fate, Legend of the Condor Bow, and Gods of Honour. She has also won the Hong Kong Film Award for Best Supporting Actress. Recently, she has entered the short drama industry, and the view count has already surpassed 1 billion, sparking enthusiastic discussion. She also stated that regardless of whether it is a short drama or a long drama, as long as the script is good, she is willing to perform.

Ye Xuan recently starred in the short drama The Young Mistress Comes from the Northeast, which has drawn great attention. She took on a brand new role, playing the male lead’s mother He Yuemei, and had to use a strong northeastern dialect. In one scene—a “grieving mother’s crying scene”—she stunned everyone. Her trembling eyes and subtle body movements displayed heart-wrenching emotion, earning her praise from the audience as delivering a “textbook-level performance.” She shared that the filming process was full of fun, even describing it as “super enjoyable.”

After the show went online, it broke through 100 million views for five consecutive days, with a total view count of over 1 billion. In response to outside doubts such as “a movie queen acting in short dramas is devaluing herself,” Ye Xuan emphasized: “There’s no difference between short and long dramas, only between interesting and uninteresting ones.” She completed all her scenes for this series in only 8 days, pulling two all-nighters, and the highly efficient pace made her feel like she had “returned to TVB’s golden age.” She also stated that when encountering a good script, she would be willing to film “for 900 hours.”
