A delivery worker saved a man who had fallen into a river and, after saying his order was about to be late, hurried off in his soaked clothes to complete the delivery.

According to "Jimu News" reports, in Xining, Qinghai, China, Han Peng, a 30-year-old Salar Meituan delivery rider, was passing by Wenting Lane in Chengxi District while making a delivery when he noticed a man acting strangely, sitting on the bridge guardrail.

As he approached to ask what was wrong, the man suddenly jumped into the river. Han Peng called the police while rushing to the riverbank, threw his phone on the shore, and jumped in to save the man.

It had rained heavily the previous two days, so the river had risen and the current was strong, with a muddy bottom. The river water instantly soaked Han Peng's clothes, slowing him down, and the man who fell had already been swept more than ten meters away.

Additionally, the man in the river was heavy, had a leg injury, and was experiencing hypothermia, making it very difficult for Han Peng to drag him to shore. Just as he was feeling helpless, a kind-hearted citizen jumped in to help, and together, the two managed to rescue the man.

After making sure the man was unharmed, Han Peng and the other rescuer wrung water from their clothes and left in a hurry.
At that moment,

Han Peng told reporters, "The order can be late, but a life can't wait." He said he didn't think much during the rescue. Afterwards, he managed to deliver the order to the customer on time. Later, he learned that the helpful citizen who joined him was Liu Kuiye, a retired soldier, and said that without Liu's timely assistance, it would have been very difficult to save the man alone.

Reporters from the Second People's Hospital of Xining learned that the rescued man suffered a fractured pelvis and multiple injuries to his lower limbs, but his condition is now stable.

Jimu News reporters learned that the Chengbei District Civilization Office and Huoche Xizhan Subdistrict Office commended both rescuers and awarded them certificates of honor. Meituan also told reporters that the platform has applied for the "Pioneer Rider" title and a bonus reward for Han Peng.
