(Kuala Lumpur 8th) The case of Tan Sri misusing highway construction funds involves Tan Sri who was recently permitted to be discharged from the hospital, and the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) will summon Tan Sri to record a statement.
MACC Chairman Tan Sri Azam Baki confirmed that the doctor has allowed the involved Tan Sri to be discharged. The highway contractor Tan Sri had recently been receiving treatment at a private hospital, and therefore has yet to record a statement with the authorities.
"I have learned that the doctor recently allowed him to be discharged. My officers will contact him soon to arrange an appointment."
He said that the Tan Sri is a key witness in the case investigation, and the MACC has already recorded statements from 45 other witnesses regarding this case, and he does not rule out the possibility that more people may be summoned.
This case involves a fraud incident concerning Islamic bond funds for highway engineering, with assets sealed by the authorities amounting to 143 million MYR, including funds used for gambling activities.
