On the evening of the 9th, Hamas issued a statement saying it has agreed to release 10 detainees, but the current ceasefire negotiations in Gaza are facing difficulties.
The statement pointed out that in order to ensure the success of the ongoing ceasefire negotiations, Hamas has shown the necessary flexibility and agreed to release 10 detainees. The core issues are still under negotiation, with priorities including the entry of aid supplies into Gaza, the withdrawal of Israeli forces from Gaza, and providing concrete guarantees from relevant parties for a permanent ceasefire.
The statement said that due to Israel's stubborn attitude, negotiations surrounding these issues are currently very difficult.
The statement said that the Hamas leadership continues to make intensive and responsible efforts to ensure the success of the current negotiations, aiming to reach a comprehensive agreement to end the aggression against the people of Gaza, ensure that humanitarian aid supplies can freely and safely enter Gaza, and alleviate the increasingly severe suffering in Gaza.
Israel Willing to Achieve Permanent Gaza Ceasefire through Negotiations
Israeli Foreign Minister Saar stated on the 9th that if Israel and Hamas reach a temporary ceasefire agreement, Israel is willing to achieve a permanent ceasefire in Gaza through negotiations.
He made these remarks at a press conference held with the Slovak Foreign Minister in Bratislava, the capital of Slovakia.
Saar said Israel is sincerely seeking to reach an agreement for the release of detainees and to achieve a ceasefire in Gaza. If a temporary ceasefire is reached, Israel will negotiate for a permanent ceasefire.
It is understood that the Israeli delegation remains in Doha, the capital of Qatar, holding indirect talks with Hamas regarding a proposed 60-day ceasefire agreement. The talks include the release of 10 detainees and the return of the remains of several other detainees.
