(Miri, 24th) The United Association of Chinese Primary Aided School Boards of Management Miri & Limbang Divisions held the inauguration ceremony of the 20th Board of Directors last night at the Boulevard Chinese Restaurants Miri, while also welcoming the arrival of the 2025 Lunar New Year. The event brought together numerous leaders from the political and business sectors, as well as representatives from the education field, to witness the birth of the new board.

The chairman of the preparatory committee, Kapitan William Thien, in his speech, stated that the association successfully completed the general meeting in the afternoon and elected the new board of directors. He extended a warm welcome on behalf of the organizing committee to all the guests present and congratulated the new board members on their successful election.

He emphasized that the establishment of the new board is not only a transfer of mission but also a continuation of responsibility.

“We must thank the leadership of previous boards because their contributions have made the foundation of the association more solid. In the future, our new board will unite as one to continue the spirit of our predecessors and create new prospects for Chinese education.”

William Thien pointed out that the Miri Division Chinese Primary School Board Association has long been committed to promoting the development of Chinese primary schools and safeguarding the rights of Chinese education. Every year, alongside the teacher's union, they organize divisional academic competitions, including written exams, singing, public speaking, and calligraphy contests, providing a platform for students to compete and exchange and selecting outstanding students to represent Miri Division in state and national competitions.

“The success of these activities relies on the support from various sectors of society. We thank the representatives for their allocations, which ensure the smooth running of the events. In the future, the association will continue to strengthen cooperation with the government, society, enterprises, schools, and parent groups to jointly promote the development of Chinese primary school education.”

William Thien added that the Lunar New Year symbolizes new hope and reminds everyone to face future challenges with a more positive attitude. He took this opportunity to send New Year wishes to all guests and educators and thanked the community leaders, educators, and committee members for their hard work.
