NCT WISH Confesses to Fans in Malay: Thousands of NCTzens Overjoyed

Popular Korean boy group NCT WISH performed in Malaysia for the first time, holding their “NCT WISH 1st CONCERT TOUR 'INTO THE WISH: Our WISH'” in Kuala Lumpur’s Mega Star Arena on the night of the 6th. Thousands of NCTzens (fan nickname) flocked to the venue, where the screams and cheers echoed continuously. The six members repeatedly expressed gratitude to fans on stage, and even followed local customs by confessing to fans in Malay, instantly igniting the crowd and making fans burst with joy.

NCT WISH is the Japanese sub-unit of NCT under SM Entertainment, consisting of four Japanese members—RIKU, YUSHI, RYO, SAKUYA—and two Korean members, SION and JAEHEE. Officially debuting in 2024, they quickly gained popularity with their refreshing, bright musical style and energetic stage performances.

At the start of the concert, the six members appeared in shiny grey suits, opening with the title track “Steady” from their first mini album, followed by “Songbird.” Their energetic singing and dancing instantly ignited the audience, with a youthful vibe sweeping through the entire venue.

NCT WISH prepared plenty of local touches for the Kuala Lumpur show, greeting the audience in Malay and taking turns confessing to fans: “Sentiasa di hati saya (Forever in my heart)”, “Hati saya untuk kamu (My heart belongs to you)”, “Semua sangat manis (You’re all so sweet)”, “Saya sayang korang (I love you all)”. These sweet messages sent fans into a screaming frenzy.

The members also thoughtfully prepared handwritten Malay cards for the audience, featuring phrases like “Terima kasih”, “Jumpa lagi”, and “Sentiasa di hati saya,” earning another round of cheers with their sincerity.

Visiting Malaysia for the first time, the members shared their feelings, exclaiming how warm the weather was. One even joked, “I feel so hot; it must be because everyone here is so enthusiastic!” During the performance, SION and RIKU got so hot they had to take off their jackets, and RIKU even ripped off the lower part of his pants, sending the crowd into a frenzy.

With an average age of 21, the six members delivered energetic stage performances, singing more than 20 songs in over two hours, including “Hands Up,” “WISH,” “poppop,” “Our Adventure,” and more. JAEHEE even featured a special piano performance, showcasing his musical talent and adding a highlight to the concert. NCTzens kept up their enthusiastic support all night with choruses and screams; the fans’ passion moved the members, who said they felt “full of strength” and deeply appreciated the energy of Malaysian fans.

During the encore, SAKUYA thanked the fans in Malay: “Terima kasih kerana datang hari ini (Thank you for coming today),” and called out, “Jumpa lagi!” The members together promised: “Kami akan kembali (We will return).”
