(Miri, 12th) — The Women’s Group of the Miri Division of Sarawak Lin Clan Association will be organizing the “Warm May, Filled with Love” Mother’s Day Card Creativity Contest for members’ children on May 9th (Saturday), from 1pm to 4pm at the Lin Yong Xue and Spouse Grand Hall, 3rd floor of the association building. Registration deadline is May 4th, 2026 (Monday).
The Women’s Group Chairperson, Lim Li, stated that the event is intended to foster friendship among members, and also hopes that every carefully designed card can convey love and blessings to the most important people around us.
Preparation Committee Chairperson, Lu Mei Yan, called on the clan members’ children to register and participate enthusiastically. She pointed out that souvenirs, carnations, and appreciation red packets will be prepared for the event day, and welcomes clan members to attend and participate, making the event even warmer and meaningful.
In terms of competition, eligibility is for children of association members. Participants must create a thank you card on-site using drawing or handicraft methods. Card size and shape are not restricted, materials are to be brought by participants, and a congratulatory message must be written on the card. The contest is divided into three age groups: 7-10, 11-14, and 15-18 years old.
Judging criteria: Creativity (60%), message (40%), mainly selecting works with creative design and unique blessings. Entry fee is RM5.
As for awards, the champion will receive RM200, first runner-up RM150, second runner-up RM100, third runner-up RM80, and 4 consolation prizes of RM30 each. Every participant will also receive a gift. Participants must check in by 12:30pm on the day, and experienced art teachers will be invited as judges.
The organizers stated that they reserve the right to amend the rules as needed for any matters not covered. Registration forms must be submitted to the organizers before the deadline and can be registered via WhatsApp or email.
