Shooting at Plus One High School Leaves 10 Dead, 27 Injured; Gunman Among the Deceased

Canadian police have reported that a serious shooting occurred on the 10th in Table Ridge, British Columbia, Canada, resulting in 10 deaths including the gunman.

In a statement, Table Ridge police said that at approximately 1:20 p.m. local time, they received a report of a shooting at Table Ridge High School. Police subsequently found the bodies of six victims on campus, and another person died from critical injuries while being taken to hospital.

In addition, police found two more victims in a residence believed to be connected to the case.

Police confirmed that the gunman is deceased, with the body found on campus, and preliminary findings indicate the cause of death was "self-inflicted injuries."

The statement said two other people with serious or life-threatening injuries were airlifted to hospital, while 25 more were treated at a local medical center and are not in life-threatening condition.

Police confirmed the gunman was a female, but her motive remains unknown.

Table Ridge has a population of about 2,400 and is located more than 1,100 kilometers north of Vancouver.

Trip to Munich Postponed

Canadian Prime Minister Carney said he was "shocked" by the shooting.

He wrote on social media: "My deepest condolences and prayers go out to the families and friends who lost loved ones in these horrific acts of violence."

After the shooting, Carney postponed his trip to Munich, where he was scheduled to attend a security conference. He had previously announced plans to visit Munich from Wednesday to Sunday.
