The Ministry of National Unity, in collaboration with the Malaysian Siamese Association, will be organizing a national-level Songkran Festival from April 11 to 13 at the Songkran Hall in Tasek Village, Kuala Kangsar, Perak.

The Songkran Festival is an important and meaningful occasion in the calendar of the indigenous Siamese community in the country, symbolizing gratitude and joy in welcoming the New Year.

This festival is also rich in cultural value, showcasing the traditions, arts, and culture of the domestic Siamese minority community.

The Minister of National Unity, Dato' Aaron Dagang, stated in a press release on Monday (April 7) that the festival is an important platform to introduce the customs and culture of the Siamese community to the entire nation.

"This festival aligns with the goals of the Unity Government to promote unity and celebrate Malaysia's diversity in terms of race, culture, and religion."

The three-day festival will feature a variety of interesting activities, such as traditional Songkran parades, cultural and traditional food exhibitions, cultural performances (dance, arts, and music), traditional game competitions, water-splashing activities, as well as social and artistic interactions with the community.

In view of this, the Unity Department invites the citizens, especially those from nearby areas, to participate in the festival and to visit the official social media of the Unity Department for more details about the celebration.
