In addition, Yang Berhormat Pengiran Haji Isa bin Pengiran Haji Aliuddin, a member of the Brunei Legislative Council, pointed out during a debate on the "Vision 2035" resolution at the Legislative Council meeting held at the National Assembly yesterday, that there is a lack of coordination among strategies, such as the contradiction between the goal of rice self-sufficiency and meat imports.

He said: "In this regard, we must strengthen policies related to environment and sustainable development, introduce climate education and disaster awareness among the younger generation, promote green scientific research and sustainable technological innovation, and integrate Bruneian and Islamic values in all actions to ensure national development is not achieved at the expense of long-term wellbeing."
He called for the establishment of stronger environmental policies, implementing climate education, promoting green innovation and the construction of environmental protection infrastructure, and addressing issues such as flooding in a coordinated manner through land use planning and community participation.
In addition, member Haji Mohd Shaleh pointed out that cybersecurity threats could impact the national economy and people's wellbeing.
