(Kuching, 3rd) Sarawak's Premier Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri Abang Johari stated that with the three major advantages of political stability, rational citizens, and continuous development policies, Sarawak is actively creating a long-term investment environment with strong and stable future growth potential.
He mentioned that the Sarawak government has formulated a development blueprint up to 2030 and is further planning developments extending to 2035. This provides clearer prospects for investors to more effectively evaluate investment risks, returns, and sustainability.
"Firstly, Sarawak is a region with great growth potential; secondly, we have political stability and rational citizens; thirdly, we have a clear development blueprint. Regardless of who becomes the Premier in the future, the formulated policies must remain consistent and have long-term vision. We have laid the foundation for development before 2030 and have started planning the direction for 2035. Such an environment helps investors make appropriate assessments."
He made these remarks during a "Sarawak Connectivity Series 2025" event in London yesterday, while participating in a fireside chat. The session, titled "Sarawak's Global Vision: Sustainability, Innovation, and Strategic Partnerships," was hosted by Lord Jonathan Marland.
Abang Johari added that investors generally prefer to invest in peaceful and secure areas, and Sarawak embodies these attractions.
"These elements indeed exist in Sarawak, and are admirable. Among the 56 member countries of the Commonwealth, not all countries can truly practice the rule of law and ensure security. But Sarawak has achieved this, making it a highly attractive destination for many investors."
