Czech Prime Minister Fiala stated that, based on considerations of "cybersecurity," the Czech government has prohibited the use of any services provided by the Chinese artificial intelligence (AI) startup DeepSeek (Shendu Qiusuo Company) across all public administration departments in the country.
● Banned by Multiple European Countries
Previously, for similar reasons, several countries including Germany, Italy, and the Netherlands also imposed similar restrictions on DeepSeek's products and services. The reason is concerns that the company could illegally transmit users' personal data to China.
Fiala announced this decision at a press conference, claiming that DeepSeek could allow the Chinese side to access data on its servers.
Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesperson Guo Jiakun has repeatedly stated that the Chinese government attaches great importance to and legally protects data privacy and security, and has never, nor will it ever, require companies or individuals to collect or store data in violation of the law.
Guo Jiakun said: “China has always opposed generalizing the concept of national security and politicizing economic, trade, and technological issues. At the same time, China will firmly safeguard the legitimate rights and interests of Chinese enterprises.”
