(Lawas, 24th) The Sarawak Bumiputera Trust Fund (TEGAS) continues to be committed to enhancing the human capital development of rural students and youth. Through the 'Project of Dreams Realized' (Pro-DR) program, they are advancing this goal, which has now reached its 14th session in Sarawak.
Lawas Member of Parliament Dato Henry Sum Agong pointed out that this annual program is an initiative continuously promoted by the Sarawak government since 2012, aimed at strengthening educational opportunities, skills training, and holistic youth development.
"This roadshow mainly targets students in school, recent graduates, and the local community, helping Sarawak progress toward becoming an advanced and high-income state while nurturing a high-quality talent pool." he said during the launch ceremony of the 10th Pro-DR roadshow of 2025 held in Lawas.
His speech was read by Lawas District Office official Linda Yabi.
Henry Sum Agong noted that the program also provides a platform for rural students to access information on educational opportunities, skills training, and financial assistance.
"I firmly believe that this program will inspire children to continue their studies, thereby improving the socioeconomic level of their families and communities," he said.
This roadshow brought together more than 40 higher education institutions, loan agencies, and government departments to provide one-stop services for the community, allowing the public to directly obtain important information.
During the event, a "Think & Tinker (T&T) Mini Lab" workshop was also held at SMK Lawas, providing students with a multifunctional innovation space to explore the digital and technology fields.
This initiative also aligns with the vision of TEGAS, which is to cultivate more tech talents capable of contributing to the future of Sarawak's digital economy.
