Earlier, the catchphrase 'since you’re here' from the Nanjing Sister Hong incident in China became famous. Now, Hong Kong has its own laidback, fairy-like female student whose phrase 'since I’m already late' has instantly gone viral among Hong Kong netizens—even a renowned local film art director has posted about wanting to discover her.

Recently, i-Cable News Hong Kong interviewed students across schools on their first day back, asking them to share their feelings about the new academic year. One interview, featuring a calm, fairy-like female student being late, quickly exploded online, sparking heated discussion throughout the internet.

On the day in question, after the class bell rang, the reporter encountered a student named Ella, who was still calmly walking toward the school gates.

The reporter asked if she was late; she admitted she was. When asked why she was still walking so slowly, she coolly replied: 'It's okay, since I’m already late anyway.' This casual and honest response, paired with her unique aura, made the clip go viral on every major social platform, with 'since I’m already late' becoming the catchphrase spammed by netizens.

Many netizens praised Ella’s composure, saying that she looked beautiful even without makeup and describing her as exuding a fairy-like vibe.

Some netizens commented that such a sense of relaxation isn’t something everyone possesses, and that apparently being late can be so elegant.

Additionally, some felt that she resembled several celebrities, including Faye Wong, Miki Yeung, and Yang Ming, with others directly encouraging her to enter the Miss Hong Kong Pageant.

Netizens soon launched a grassroots search; based on her school uniform, she was recognized as coming from the International Christian Quality Music Secondary and Primary School. This is Hong Kong’s first music-integrated primary and secondary school, renowned for Christian education and systematic music training, with annual tuition around 70,000 HKD (about 37,000 MYR).

Even production designer Zhang Wen, who’s been nominated six times for the Hong Kong Film Awards, took notice of Ella, posting on her story that she would like to film her, which drew widespread reaction.

In an interview with 'HK01,' Zhang Wen explained that her appreciation for Ella was because of her unique quality of always being herself, regardless of circumstances. She emphasized she was drawn by Ella’s sincerity, not by wanting to promote tardiness.

She also admitted that, if possible, she’d love to discover Ella for an acting opportunity, but clarified that she is not a talent agent.
