Donnie Yen and Anita Yuen appeared in Singapore on the 1st, attending the inaugural Golden Lion Awards as judges. Recently affected by a fire in Tai Po, Hong Kong, their moods were visibly low when they appeared, with their faces looking somewhat haggard. Dressed in plain attire, they also wore black ribbons on their chests to mourn the victims of the tragedy. However, they still devoted themselves to their work and each shared their feelings about serving as film judges.
Donnie Yen, who is committed to advancing the film industry, gave a speech in English, saying: "I hope everyone can truly watch every film, because every filmmaker pours enormous effort and passion into artistic creation. We are gathered here to promote this extremely precious art." Anita Yuen said: "I am very happy that the Golden Lion Awards invited me to be a judge, and this is my first time serving as a film judge. After discussing with so many experienced teachers, I feel I have benefited a lot and learned so much. I hope the Golden Lion Awards will continue to do better and better, so that more Chinese-language or international films can be included in this event in the future."
