(Bandar Seri Begawan, 4th) Acting Chairman of Brunei's Teng Yun Temple, Cheng Yongming, recently led the temple delegation to Johor Bahru, Malaysia, to attend the "15th World Tua Pek Kong Festival 2026" organized by the Johor Bahru Tua Pek Kong Cultural Association, joining Tua Pek Kong temple representatives and Chinese community leaders from around the world to celebrate the occasion.
During the festival, the Teng Yun Temple delegation actively participated in a series of activities, including the major rituals, worship ceremonies for devotees, spirit-inviting ceremonies, deity procession tours, welcome banquets, and gala dinners, personally experiencing the profound heritage and unique charm of the Tua Pek Kong faith and culture.
At the exchange activities and banquets, members of the Teng Yun Temple board met with guests such as Johor Bahru Chinese Association President Xu Yongjian, Vice Chairman of World Tua Pek Kong Cultural Festival Zheng Chunwei, Organizing Committee Chairman Li Fuxin, Johor State Assemblyman Li Tinghan, as well as Sarawak Bintulu Fude Temple Chairman Song Hualiang, sharing tokens of appreciation, deepening friendships and discussing cultural heritage and future development together.
Sarawak Bintulu Fude Temple will hold its own Tua Pek Kong celebration in January next year and cordially invites members of the Teng Yun Temple board to attend the event. Both sides also took the opportunity to further strengthen ties and exchanges, promoting amicable cooperative relations between temples.
In addition, the Bintulu Fude Temple delegation also plans to visit Brunei in the future, meeting with members of the Teng Yun Temple board to further solidify friendship and jointly promote the heritage and development of the Tua Pek Kong faith and culture.
