(Bandar Seri Begawan, 1st) The 2025 'Esteemed Datuk Lim Teck Hock Memorial Cup' Brunei Chess Open Tournament’s open group matches will continue on August 3rd (Sunday), with the venue changed to the private residence of Brunei Chess Association President Tan Sian Hock.
The open group already successfully completed four rounds of matches on July 27th at Wen Zhong He Tang on the first day. The remaining three rounds are scheduled for August 3rd, with a total of 11 players registered for the competition.
After four rounds, the 11 players have the following points: Lim Ting An 3.5 points, Chou Rong An 3.5 points, Leong Ah Hoi 3 points, Low Kui Hua 3 points, Tu Shu Peng 2.5 points, Hsu Hsien Ming 2 points, Yip Swee Kok 2 points, Huang Ling Xiang 2 points, To Ah Heng 1 point, Low Kar Kai 1 point, and Law Siao Leong 0 points.
The final rankings of the open group will be determined by the results after all seven rounds, with the highest scorer as champion, and so on.
On August 3rd, the fifth round of matches will begin at 10:00 AM, followed by a lunch break at noon. The sixth and seventh round matches will commence at 2:00 PM in the afternoon, all matches are expected to conclude before 5:00 PM, after which the prize presentation ceremony will be held.
