A South Korean district court has sentenced a Chinese student accused of arson on campus in February this year to one year and six months in prison.
According to reports from Yonhap News Agency and Maeil Business Newspaper, the Ulsan District Court's First Criminal Trial Division made this ruling on the 6th.
It is reported that this student was an exchange student at a certain university in Ulsan. On February 19th, they used items such as blankets, notebooks, and trash to commit arson in four locations on campus: a smoking area, a road, and a nearby mountain area.
After the incident, the student attempted to flee to China and was apprehended by police at Gimhae Airport in Busan on February 20th.
