(Kuching, 7th) The education sector in Kapit and its surrounding remote areas has reached a significant milestone, as the Kapit well construction and installation project was officially handed over for use by 11 schools yesterday (December 6).
Minister of Works and Kapit Member of Parliament Dato Sri Alexander Nanta Linggi stated that the project delivers safe, clean, and stable water supply to thousands of students and teachers, helping to create a healthier and more conducive learning environment.
He said: "This project involves 11 schools, with a total allocation of RM11,488,729. The scope of work includes the construction of complete infrastructure such as reservoirs, pump houses, and mechanical and electrical systems."
"As of now, 7 schools have been fully completed, with another 4 schools in the final stage of technical completion. The government has also provided alternative solutions to ensure all schools can benefit equally." he posted on Facebook.
He also thanked the Ministry of Works (MOW), Ministry of Education (MOE), contractors, and all participating parties for their close cooperation, which allowed the project to be successfully implemented and laid a foundation for a brighter and healthier future for Kapit’s children.
