(Bandar Seri Begawan, 30th) To celebrate the 22nd International Day of Older Persons in 2025, Brunei will illuminate its iconic structures—the Sultan Haji Omar ‘Ali Saifuddien Bridge and the Hassanal Bolkiah National Stadium—in golden yellow lights.
This event will be held each night from tonight (30th) until October 1st, from 7pm to midnight at both the Sultan Haji Omar ‘Ali Saifuddien Bridge and the Hassanal Bolkiah National Stadium.
The lighting ceremony aims to commemorate the contributions of the elderly in national development and to convey respect and gratitude to them. The golden yellow color has been chosen as the official theme, symbolizing the elderly entering the “golden years” of life and representing their wealth of experience and knowledge, providing life guidance to the younger generation.
The public is welcome to visit and take photos of the illuminated landmarks and upload them to social media using the hashtag #HAWE2025 to support the event and raise awareness about the importance of care, protection, and family well-being for the elderly.
