(Kuala Lumpur, 12th) In conjunction with the start of the 2026 new school year today, Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar has extended his well wishes to all students, especially to first-year students.
He also reminded parents via a Facebook post to set a good example and accompany their children on their academic journey.
"Wishing the children a joyful start to school, especially the first-year students who are stepping into the school grounds for the first time with dreams and hopes.
"For all parents, please accompany your children’s growth with prayers and by being a good example. May every bit of knowledge and values they learn help shape them into citizens with good character and knowledge, contributing to the nation’s future. May God bless them."
The start of the new academic year for all national schools and government-aided schools was adjusted after the COVID-19 pandemic in 2022; from this year onward, the school year resumes opening in January.
