(Bandar Seri Begawan, 12th) Since the registration for the 2025 National Calligraphy Competition opened, it has attracted enthusiastic participation from students of various schools, reflecting a strong response. The organizers stated that the overall quality of this year’s entries has generally improved, fully showcasing the achievements of campus calligraphy education in the country. Judging has already been completed, and the judges have given high affirmation to the students’ performances.
This year’s competition is co-organized by the Brunei Chinese Artistic & Literary Association and Chung Hwa Middle School Brunei.
Yesterday afternoon, at a meeting convened and chaired by President Sun Dean, the organizing committee further discussed various details for the award ceremony scheduled to be held at 2:00 p.m. on November 23, 2025, at the Peace Hall of Chung Hwa Middle School Brunei. Discussions included guest invitations, venue arrangement, program planning, and media promotion. President Sun thanked the board members and members for taking time to attend, and expressed his hope that with joint efforts, the awards ceremony would be presented smoothly and satisfactorily.
The board members attending the meeting included: Chen Lizhen, Xing Xiuzhu, Lin Meiyu, Lin Yuantai, Zhan Xingmin, Lin Jingyi, Pan Weifang, Hu Yinfang, Huang Daoyan, Chen Yiqin, as well as invited member Zhu Yunli.
Preparatory committee chairperson Chen Lizhen proposed suggestions at the meeting regarding the ceremony process and task division, aiming to ensure the activity runs smoothly and orderly on the day itself.
President Sun stated that continuous communication will be maintained with all schools to ensure the smooth operation of the ceremony process, allowing award-winning students and their parents to participate in an event that is solemn and rich in cultural atmosphere. The committee members also emphasized that proper reception and order will be arranged on the day of the ceremony to ensure the overall event proceeds smoothly.
