(Bandar Seri Begawan, 6th) The Brunei Ministry of Health issued a statement announcing that the Department of Environmental Health Services (JPKAS) will begin tuberculosis screening at Tutong District Government Hospital starting from the 8th of this month.

The statement pointed out that this screening aims to assist high-risk groups by enabling early detection and treatment, which can effectively prevent tuberculosis and reduce the occurrence of serious health problems. This measure is also in line with the "The WHO End TB Strategy" launched by the World Health Organization (WHO) in 2014, which aims to completely eradicate tuberculosis by 2035.

Eligible screening candidates include individuals aged 65 and above, those with high blood sugar levels, and individuals currently undergoing dialysis treatment.

However, the following individuals are excluded from the screening: those who have undergone X-ray examinations within the past year, or individuals who have complications when exposed to X-rays.

The public can obtain more information related to the screening by scanning the attached QR code.
