A 26-year-old Malaysian man was arrested at Bangkok Don Mueang International Airport on suspicion of involvement in online gambling and money laundering activities.

Don Mueang Immigration Checkpoint Chief, Colonel Adisak, stated that the authorities received intelligence that a suspect, wanted in connection with a well-known gambling website, would be arriving in Bangkok.

He indicated that a task force was dispatched to wait for the suspect at the aircraft gate exit upon his arrival at Don Mueang Airport.

He announced in a press statement that the man, traveling on a Malaysian passport, departed from Kuala Lumpur and was arrested upon arrival at the international arrivals hall.

"The suspect was wanted under an arrest warrant issued by the Nonthaburi Court for alleged involvement in online gambling and money laundering activities.

"He is suspected of conspiring to operate online gambling illegally, conspiring with two or more individuals to launder money, and being investigated for conspiracy and joint action in money laundering."

Colonel Adisak added that the suspect is also the owner of a company alleged to have been used as a financial channel for the gambling website, with an annual transaction volume reportedly exceeding 11.52 billion baht.

Subsequently, the suspect was handed over to the Thai Technology Crime Suppression Division 2 (TCSD 2) for further legal action.
