On his personal social media, Infantino revealed that Trump expressed his welcome for the Iranian football team to come to the United States to participate in the World Cup.
Infantino posted on his personal Instagram about the meeting with President Trump: "Tonight I met with US President Trump to discuss preparations for the upcoming FIFA World Cup and the growing excitement as there are now only 93 days left until the opening."
We also talked about the current situation in Iran and the fact that Iran’s team has already qualified for the 2026 FIFA World Cup. President Trump reiterated during our discussion that, of course, Iran's team is welcome to play in the US.
We all need events like the FIFA World Cup to bring people together, and I sincerely appreciate the support from the President of the United States, as it once again shows how football unites the world.
