(Kuching, 16th) The Balai Ringin Health Clinic has received a batch of urgently needed medical equipment under the "Enlivening Lives: Balai Ringin Christmas Project" (Memacu Kehidupan Krismas Balai Ringin). This initiative is a strategic collaboration between Yayasan PETRONAS and the Association of Wives of Ministers and Deputy Ministers of Sarawak (SABATI), aiming to enhance the level of healthcare services and alleviate the burden on the local community.
Balai Ringin area councilor Datuk Snowdan Lawan stated that this initiative brings concrete and positive impact to the people, especially in improving medical facilities and distributing Christmas food baskets to eligible recipients.

Speaking at the event on Friday (December 12), during the launch of the project and the handover ceremony of the basic medical equipment at his service center, he said: “I highly appreciate this project. The strategic collaboration between PETRONAS and SABATI has truly touched the lives of the people and brought real changes to their daily lives.”
Snowdan, on behalf of the people of Balai Ringin, expressed gratitude, noting that the local health clinic received several essential pieces of medical equipment, including waiting area chairs, hospital beds, wheelchairs, infusion pumps, and heavy-duty nebulizers.
He said: “These new pieces of equipment are not only urgently needed but will also replace old and outdated items. With the upgraded facilities, the clinic will be able to provide better quality healthcare services to the community.”

In conjunction with the upcoming Christmas season, Yayasan PETRONAS also sponsored the distribution of Christmas food baskets to 204 households. Snowdan pointed out that this would help ease the financial burden of qualified families, with beneficiaries screened based on e-Kasih registration data.
He added that this partnership aligns with Sarawak’s Post COVID-19 Development Strategy 2030 (PCDS 2030), which emphasizes comprehensive and inclusive development to improve people's quality of life.
During the event, Snowdan – who is also Deputy Minister for Tourism, Creative Industry and Performing Arts – presented appointment letters to 11 village heads in the Balai Ringin sub-district, encouraging them to work closely with government agencies and fully support existing and future development projects.

On another note, five churches in the Balai Ringin constituency also received RM1,005,000 in aid from the Sarawak GPS government, disbursed through the Unit for Other Religions (Unifor), to upgrade church premises and support a church school.
Earlier, Snowdan also visited the Balai Ringin Health Clinic to inspect its facilities and services. He expressed satisfaction upon seeing a newly received advanced ambulance at the clinic.
Attendees included Snowdan’s wife, Datin Melinda Claudia Bucking Lawan, five SABATI executive committee members, and PETRONAS Sarawak General Manager Norazibah Md Rabu.
