On the 25th, a long-distance bus accident occurred in central Peru’s Junín Province, resulting in at least 15 deaths and 27 injuries.
According to Peru’s Radio and Television Corporation, an interprovincial long-distance bus traveling from the capital Lima to La Merced City in Junín Province plunged off a cliff while passing through the Tarma area.
The report said there were more than 60 passengers on the bus at the time. The cause of the accident is still under investigation.
Due to poor road and vehicle conditions, as well as unlicensed and drunk driving, traffic accidents are frequent in Peru.
